All Shelter handplanes are hand shaped out of renewable Santa Cruz County coastal redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) by Matt Evarts
Some have stringers or tail blocks made from addtional wood scraps of varying varieties
Straps are made from reused upcycled bike tubes making for a comortable, stretchy, snug fit to your hand
Handplanes are finished with a product called Vermont Natural Coatings; it's made from cheese whey
Each one is unique, indivudually numbered, and signed
Tree logos are hand painted
