The Basics

All Shelter handplanes are hand shaped out of renewable Santa Cruz County coastal redwood (Sequoia sempervirens) by Matt Evarts

Some have stringers or tail blocks made from addtional wood scraps of varying varieties

Straps are made from reused upcycled bike tubes, acrylic plates and stainless hardware.  The straps make for a comortable, stretchy, snug fit to your hand - easy to swim with and easy to control

Handplanes are finished with a product called Vermont Natural Coatings creating a durable, fully waterproof finish product that is easy on the environment

Each one is unique, indivudually numbered, and signed by me

Tree logos are hand painted
